What is Vertical Farming?
Vertical farming is a method of growing crops in stacked layers — often indoors — using controlled light, water and nutrients. Instead of spreading fields outward, plants grow upward in towers or shelves. This saves land, uses less water, and can produce fresh vegetables year-round near cities and villages.

Technologies Used

Hydroponics
Plants grow in nutrient-rich water instead of soil. Roots sit in channels or pots with circulating solution. Ideal for leafy greens, herbs and strawberries.

Aeroponics
Roots hang in air and are misted with nutrients. Uses even less water than hydroponics and can speed up growth when managed well.

Aquaponics
Combines fish tanks with plant beds. Fish waste feeds plants; plants clean the water for fish. A circular, low-waste system.

Special spectrum LEDs replace sunlight. Tunable red/blue light improves growth while saving electricity compared to old lamps.

Climate & IoT Sensors
