Vertical Farming

Grow more food in less space — modern towers, hydroponics & smart indoor farms. Learn the tech, costs, and how KisanSetu can help you start.

What is Vertical Farming?

Vertical farming is a method of growing crops in stacked layers — often indoors — using controlled light, water and nutrients. Instead of spreading fields outward, plants grow upward in towers or shelves. This saves land, uses less water, and can produce fresh vegetables year-round near cities and villages.

Stacked Growing

Crops are arranged in vertical layers or towers so one square metre can produce many times more food than open soil.

Less Water

Hydroponic and closed systems recycle water. Vertical farms often use 70–95% less water than traditional fields.

Year-Round Harvest

Indoor climate control means you are not limited by monsoon, heat or frost. Plan harvests every few weeks.

Near Consumers

Farms can sit in warehouses, rooftops or village sheds — cutting transport cost and delivering fresher produce.

Key Benefits

High Yield / Area

10–20× more output per sq.m in many systems

Fewer Pests

Closed spaces reduce pesticide need

Fresh & Local

Shorter farm-to-plate distance

Predictable

Stable production planning
